GI Joes Added to Kentucky Library & Museum Toy Collection

GI Joe action figure. Two GI Joe action figures, a WWII Pacific Marineā„¢ and GI Joe Pearl Harbor Hickam Field Defenderā„¢ action figures recently “enlisted” in the KYLM Toy Collection. One of the iconic toys of the 20th century, GI Joe made his first appearance at the 1964 International Toy Fair in New York where he was presented as an action figure rather than a doll. Made with 21 moving parts, action figures representing all four branches of the service were introduced during the first year.

The two figures in the KYLM collection resulted from the generosity of a WKU alumnus who participated in a talk on the Kentucky Library & Museum Toy Collection during the 2009 Alumni College.

  6. Hello everybody, This website is high-quality and so is how the issue was developped. I like some of the comments too even though I would rather we don’t err from the main point in order add value to the message. It will be also encouraging to the one who penned it down if we all could share it around (for many of us who use social media such as a digg, twitter,..). Again, Thanks..

  11. Greetings to all, This webpage is good quality and so is the manner in which the issue was developped. I like some of the comments too though I would prefer we remain on the topic so that to add value to the point. It will be also encouraging to the one who penned it down if we all could mention it (for those who use social media such as a delicious, twitter,..). Thanks again.
