Community Lecture on Holocaust Featured Survivor and Liberator

A community lecture on the Holocaust was given at Barnes & Noble on March 21. The speakers were Ann Klein of Louisville, a survivor of several Holocaust concentration camps, and Robert Wheeler of Scottsville, the seargent of the unit that liberated Buchenwald. Author of Joseph Gavi: Young Hero of the Minsk Ghetto Spoke in Helm Library

Carlton Jackson, author of the book Joseph Gavi: Young Hero of the Minsk Ghetto, spoke in room Helm Library 100 on the evening of March 7. Dr. Gavi was personally responsible for saving many Jewish people from death at the hands of the Nazis.

Singer-songwriter Matt Zarb Performed in Java City Tuesday

This Tuesday, March 7th, Australian-born singer-songwriter Matt Zarb performed in Java City. Matt and his music has been described as “Aussie-Bush-Grass,” and his delivery as having the “attitude and the irreverence of a convict.” Matt now lives in Kentucky and has released his first solo album Hillbilly Bride.
