Spring break day camp held at the Kentucky Museum on the campus of Western Kentucky University received rave reviews from the campers. Participants enjoyed many art activities from painting designs on a papier-mache rock ledge and portraits of their pets to creating 3-D collages and making booklets using their very own hand marbleized paper.

Beth Hester of GH Productions in Scottsville, KY conducted a beginner’s basket making workshop at the Kentucky Museum on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Thirteen participants spent the day weaving a Kentucky Berry basket.

Nominated by University Libraries and Information Technology for the 2006 Faculty Awards, Nancy and Sue Lynn were recognized for their efforts in Research/Creative Activity and Public Service. Chief among their accomplishments was their co-authorship of Western Kentucky University: The First 100 Years and numerous public programs promoting the WKU centennial.
