Banned Books Week is an annual event promoted by the American Library Association (ALA) celebrating the freedom to read. WKU Libraries celebrates 2013 Banned Books Week by encouraging patrons to “Jump on the Banned Wagon!” and read banned or challenged books.
Helm-Cravens and the Ed Center feature interactive Banned Wagon displays that allow patrons to easily browse and check out these controversial titles. Helm-Cravens also has a display case on the fifth floor of Cravens featuring titles from the ALA’s 2013 Banned Books List. This display gives more information on why and where these titles are banned and/or challenged.
